CA2Q Members take 7 day Tour
On Thursday morning August 7, 2003, Bob Tobin, Bill Androws, Dave Wilson and I left Pleasanton, Ca. to embark on a fantastic 7 day trip through some of the most beautiful parts of this great country. The entire journey was just over 4500 miles, the weather fantastic, and the roads were awesome to experience on a motorcycle. This particular route brought us to: Craters of the Moon (Idaho), Devils Tower and Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming), Theodore Roosevelt National Park (North Dakota), Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and Glacier National Park (Montana), plus more beautiful roads and areas of each of the nine states above. Our night time stops included: day 1) Twin Falls, Idaho, day 2) Buffalo, Wyoming, day 3) Broadus, Montana, day 4) Livingston, Montana, day 5) Missoula, Montana, and day 6) Burns, Oregon (changed from Baker City, Oregon due to being ahead of our schedule). I would personally like to thank the management of Riverside Marine & Cycle of Miles City, Montana for saving the day when they graciously opened their Honda Dealership at 6:00 am on a Sunday morning to install a new set of tires on my 1800 after my rear tire was discovered to be nearly destroyed when we took a freeway off ramp on our route to Broadus, Mt. Considering we had been traveling in some extremely remote areas and very high speeds the situation could have been very critical. Certainly any future big trip of mine will include a new set of tires on my motorcycle so I never have to repeat this important learning lesson. Ride safe! Dale Croy |
